Depok, as a buffer city for the capital, is often considered to still be part of DKI Jakarta, both geographically, psychologically and culturally. Not many people know that this 20 year old city also has its own characteristics which are completely different from those of DKI Jakarta. For example, Depok has an icon of star fruit, there is star fruit god and star fruit goddess. Well, this icon is then used by Depok residents to be creative in the culinary field.
Depok City Government in collaboration with the International Council for Small Business Depok City is holding a City Local Snack Festival Depok 2019. This event was officially opened by the Mayor of Depok Mohammad Idris and took place in the Depok City Hall courtyard. This festival lasts for 2 days, Monday-Tuesday 11 and 12 March 2019.
Among the star fruit processed creations that are quite unique are star fruit donuts. Not only star fruit creations, this festival also serves many other typical Depok city snacks, such as Depok dodol which is starting to be hard to find.
